Hollie delivers talk for Moreton School Director's Table

Developing a network and showcasing skills and talents were on the agenda when the Moreton Enterprise Directors and their team gathered for the first Directors’ Table of the academic year with award winning TEDX speaker and the West Midlands Regional Chair for the Federation of Small Businesses, Hollie Whittles.

With a personal mission to educate, entertain and engage, Hollie certainly delivered, introducing our budding entrepreneurs to the power of Linkedin. Hollie’s insightful presentation included top tips showing how to build connections, get greater engagement from the content and maximise online presence as part of developing each girl’s ‘brand u’.

Director of two digital companies including her talks, webinars and workshops business FraggleWorks, Hollie’s own impressive Linkedin account showcases her many achievements including her nomination as one of the top 40 Women in Tech in 2020 and winning the national WomanWho awards in the business networking category. In 2018, she was presented with a certificate from the British Computer Society for her work in the UK digital industry in 2018 and in 2014, Hollie was voted one of the Top 50 Women in Tech by PCR Online and was Woman of the Year finalist.

Reflecting on the talk, Directors’ Table founder, Clare Downes commented: “As a regular user of LinkedIn for my business networking and connecting, I learnt some new tips that I shall be putting into practise immediately. I sense that the students that listened to Hollie, will be setting up LinkedIn accounts, as they start to seek opportunities for their future careers. You are never too young to start networking and establishing beneficial connections! A massive thank you to Hollie.”

Hollie stated that “it was a pleasure to speak at Moreton Hall last night. I am passionate about educating and informing students about career pathways and opportunities for the future. I
hope they had some great takeaways about how to take advantage of LinkedIn and I look forward to visiting in the future!”

Moreton Enterprise team member Clover certainly found it an educational and informative evening with some excellent takeaways: “I learnt that LinkedIn is actually a very large platform with a huge community of people- from business owners, to students looking for work experience! All in all, I think that it’s a really accessible social media platform and a great way to get yourself involved in the business world.”
